Shiuan & Yuan

STUDIO F.A.C.E. is the collaborative practice of composer Shiuan Chang and spatial designer Yuan-Yuan Ma.

Shiuan investigates the relationship between states of motion and sound, while Yuan-Yuan explores the connections between people, objects, and space. Their collaboration emerges at the intersection of these two paths: the body in motion. Every individual participates simply by being present; the trajectories of individuals and collectives simultaneously generate sound, rendering the boundaries of movement visible.

The studio's name stems from the artists' shared gaze upon the body, consciousness, and the edges of the unknown: exploring at the fringes of the known, advancing toward the unfamiliar, and occasionally turning back to reflect. Though the steps may be unsteady, the resolve to move forward remains. STUDIO F.A.C.E. — Failing At the Cutting-Edge — embodies the curiosity and innocence of a toddler pushing a walker, stepping toward the future and the unknown with primal wonder.

張玹研究運動狀態與聲音的關係，馬圓媛探索人、物件與空間的關係。他們的共同創作從兩條路徑的交會點湧現：移動中的身體。每個人因在場而參與；個體與群體移動的軌跡同時生成聲音，也讓運動本身的邊界變得可見。

這個工作室的名字，來自兩位藝術家對身體、意識與未知邊界的共同凝視：在已知的邊緣探索，面向未知前進，偶爾轉身回望；雖腳步還不穩，但決意前行。STUDIO F.A.C.E.——Failing At the Cutting-Edge——是仍在蹣跚學步、推著學步車前行的，對未知與未來的好奇與赤子之心。
